It's my process. I love creating new designs of hats, cowls, gloves, and tops, and I always write down what I do...somewhere. I've progressed from scraps of random paper (easy to lose), to notebooks (can't remember which one), to finally, Evernote. I have a digital notebook that holds my creations that I can access on multiple devices. Perfect for on-the-go creativity!
Now, back to the three. As I yarn my item, for example, a hat, I write down each step - cast on, repeats, patterns, decreases, increases - until I finish it. Number one. I inspect the hat for any changes or modifications I would like to make, then I modify the written pattern. I follow my modified pattern and make the hat again. Number two. If I'm happy with the result and for good measure, I follow this pattern again to make sure there are no errors. Number three.
My latest pattern is Shadow. This is a two-color ribbed pattern where, when stretched out, the inner channels show a contrast color. My written pattern make sense, so now I'm transferring all of that information onto my pattern template. Shadow will be available soon! In the mean time, I have three new hats :)
Enjoy!
